DX and Contest Forum Program
CTDXCC will have another excellent program this year:
CTDXCC members, led by Jim, N3BB, will offer advice and answer questions for both experienced and newcomers interested in Contesting (Radio-Sporting) and DXing. Two separate panel discussions will deal with many aspects of two of the most popular parts of ham radio, including remote operation trends for both, LOTW impact, impact of Internet spots, single-op compared with multi-op contesting, best practices for QRP, SO2R techniques for contesting, single-band vs. all-band focus, operating techniques for the modest antenna station, DXing at home compared with the DX end, and more for CW, SSB, and RTTY. CTDXCC will do "A CW Pileup Contest" on Friday, August 4, from 6-8pm, and Saturday, August 5, from 8-10am at the Crowne Plaza Austin Hotel venue in the small room behind the restaurant. First Prize will be a Begali Key.
We will be awarding $3,000 in Door Prizes during the program - You DO NOT have to be present to win. Buy tickets on our website (ctdxcc.org - be sure to indicate the $ are for Door Prize tickets and be sure to put your call on the email) or at our monthly meetings. Tickets: $1 each, 6 for $5, 13 for $10, and the best deal - 28 for $20. You do not have to be a member of the CTDXCC to buy tickets or win.
