Steve is a civilian contractor working on redevelopment in Iraq following the conclusion of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Steve had only returned from his most recent trip to Iraq just days before the presentation.

Bill Priakos W5SJ gave a presentation on his DX operation at Fernando de Noronha, as PR0F. Fernando de Noronha is a Brazilian island in the Atlantic Ocean, not far from the equator.

Bernie's East Timor operations occured shortly after the former Portugese colony was politically separated from Indonesia, whose military had occupied it since 1975. At the time of Bernie's operation, the United Nations was running the interim government.
