Austin Summerfest 2001

The Central Texas DX and Contest Club (CTDXCC) is proud to be the continuing sponsor of the DX Forum at Austin Summerfest. The 2001 Austin Summerfest is August 3rd and 4th, at the Sheraton Four Points, 7800 North IH-35, Austin, Texas. The DX Forum is scheduled from 10 AM to 12 noon on Saturday.

  1. "Propagation Predictions for HF Band and Time Selection"
    Jim George N3BB will explain the primary variables to know and use to obtaining the DX performance you desire. Jim holds 5BDXCC and 5BWAZ, and was a competitor in the 2000 World Radiosport Team Championship in Slovenia. [30 minutes]
     
  2. "ARCluster and the CTDXCC Packet Cluster System"
    Terry Gerdes AB5K and Richard King K5NA will explain the greatest friend of any DXer today, the DX packet cluster! Terry is the author ARCluster, a DX packet cluster software package, and Richard is the Master Sysop for the Austin DX packet cluster nodes. [30 minutes]
     
  3. "The DX Quiz"
    Susan King K5DU and Richard King K5NA have another fun challenge for old and young DXers alike! The "Quiz" will be introduced and offered as a hand-out. Complete it at your leisure, and check your answers on the CTDXCC web site! [10 minutes]
     
  4. "DXpedition, Kingman Reef 2000"
    Bob Allphin K4UEE has recently completed this 23 minute video documentary of the K5K DXpedition operation, October, 2000. It reaches the general audience, so plan to bring your family members, or not-yet-DXer friends! The video will be introduced by DXpedition member Alan Brown K5AB. [30 minutes]
